Our seminar speaker, Mir Howlader, PhD, is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the lab of Dr. Theresa Lu at Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell Medical College. Her research focuses on developing novel therapeutic approaches for Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), with particular emphasis on the lymphatic system and lymph node drainage. She investigates how lymphatic dysfunction may contribute to lupus pathogenesis, an understudied area of SLE research, as well as the mechanisms underlying photosensitivity in lupus.
