Ä¢¹½APP Introduces New Scholarship

February 14, 2019

Ä¢¹½APP is introducing a new renewable scholarship.

The Foundation of Ä¢¹½APP has established a “Bison Benefit Scholarshipâ€ for Wayne County high school graduates who participated in Ä¢¹½APP’s Career and College Promise (CCP) program.

CCP allows qualified students to take college courses tuition free while still enrolled in high school.

“The Bison Benefit is a new opportunity for students and a way to help our community with education costs, said Foundation Executive Director Adrienne Northington.

“A lot of college students mount a lot of education debt. They don’t need to when community college provides so much more bang for the buck and there are so many options for financial assistance, Northington said.

The scholarship covers in-state tuition and fees not paid by financial aid or other scholarships.

Eligible applicants can have attended public or private schools or been home schooled. They must have at least a 2.8 unweighted high school grade point average and have completed at least six CCP credits at Ä¢¹½APP.

Recipients must enroll at Ä¢¹½APP as full-time college-credit students in the semester after they graduate from high school (excluding summer semester).

The scholarship is available for four semesters as long as the student completes 12 credit hours each semester and maintains a minimum 2.8 grade point average. Recipients must re-apply at the end of each semester to renew the scholarship for the next one.

Only high school seniors can apply. They can access applications at  and must return them by the last Friday in March.
